Holiday Programme

The Napier Aquatic Centre provides the best Holiday Programme in the region. Action packed with adventures, this programme is much more than water based activities. Our Programmes Team pride themselves on designing quality activities both on and off site that educates life skills for inquisitive young minds and bodies in a fun and safe environment.

Week One

Monday 8 July

Tangaroa's Crafts

Create a one-of-a-kind art piece using gifts from Tangaroa. Jess (our arts and crafts specialist) will be joining us to inspire and motivate your pieces. 

Tuesday 9 July

Pickleball Cup

Learn the fastest growing sport in the Bay, then try your skills in a round-robin mini tournament.

Wednesday 10 July

Rescue and Lifesaving 

After we learn water survival skills from the Napier Aquatic Centre swim coaches, we will use these skills in water rescue team relays.

Thursday 11 July

Fishing World Champs

We will be visiting the Fish & Game Education Facility learning how to catch trout, identifying the dangers around water, water quality testing, biodiversity, biodiversity study and we will even feed the eels! 

Friday 12 July

Bay Skate Extreme

Skate, scooter or blade your way to the record books. Who can impress the judges with their best trick?

Week Two

Monday 15 July

Team Aqua Relays

Be part of a team and compete in a range of water based challenges and relays. Gain points and go for gold!

Tuesday 16 July

Gymnastics at Omni Gym

Who has what it takes to flip their way into history at Omni Gym?

Wednesday 17 July

Kiwi Performance

Jess (our arts and crafts specialist) is back and will be helping us create our own Poi. Our talented staff will then work with groups to create a mini performance to send to the Kiwi athletes in Paris. 

Thursday 18 July

Shoebox Puppet Shows

Create an interactive puppet show about an Olympic Sport of your choice that helps tell a story. 

Friday 19 July

Superstrike - Bowl for gold!

Rocket your bowling ball down the lanes at Superstrike (Hastings). Who has what it takes to be the pin master?

Outdoor Activity

The structured programme runs from 9:00am - 3:00pm each day. 

Children can be dropped off from 7:30am and collected by 3:30pm. After care is available at an additional cost until 5:30pm.

Daily Rate:
Days based at Napier Aquatic Centre per child: $40
Day trips outside of Napier Aquatic Centre per child: $50

After Care:
Per Child: Additional $15
*from 3:30pm - 5:30pm

All children must bring the following:

  • Swimming Togs
  • Sunhat
  • Closed-Toe Shoes
  • Jacket
  • Packed Lunch
  • Water Bottle

The Napier Aquatic Centre accepts WINZ subsidies. If you wish to be eligible for a subsidy please contact the programme coordinator for more advice. If you want to register your child with an OSCAR subsidy you must do so with the programme coordinator at the centre. You can do this at the time of booking.

Please bring all the relevant forms that are required to be filled out for your application. We have full application forms and declarations at the centre if needed.

All OSCAR Subsidies must be processed at least two weeks before the holidays start. (Late forms are accepted on a case-by-case basis).

If your child is sick or unable to attend the programme the direct line to the Holiday Programme is 027 413 7697. Please text, call or leave a message on this number during programme hours only. 

A credit will be given only if notice is given before 8:00am on the morning of your booking and upon sighting a medical certificate. You are still liable for costs if you decide your child will not be attending. No refunds will be given and once you have booked the days they are final.
