Start the year off by signing up to our one of a kind programme. We have heaps of different session options each week that will surely keep you interested!
We run a 6 week fitness programme with a mix of fitness sessions that incorporate fun and exciting exercises that will benefit you. We challenge ourselves in providing unique fitness sessions that are exclusive to us and not one of our sessions is ever repeated. You will have a trainer motivating you throughout the workout who has specially designed the session for our members.... we don't run generic sessions ever and you can push yourself as much as you need and feel comfortable to.
All members receive a pool card that allows you to come in to the pools for swimming free of charge for 8 weeks. There are some additional Aqua Classes that you can attend as extras if you prefer to do water only sessions.
Our programme is aimed to cater to all fitness abilities as we schedule approx 3 different skill/fitness levels in our sessions. We don't recommend attending the high impact classes if you have a major injury that will restrict you from completing the movements. You should seek medical clearance if you have a major medical issue/restriction from performing simple movements. These movements are performed in most of our workouts in one way or another and you will come across the following: Squat, Push up, Plank, Crunches/Sit ups, Burpee, Lunges, Deadlift as well as running, modorate jumping and using functional fitness equipment. We do not want to be changing exercises to a complete different part of the body so you need to be either attending the sessions that will ensure your injury will not be provoked or be able to do the modified version of them. We highly recommend the aqua and water based classes for people who are recovering from injuries as the water is low impact.

- Body change challenge. We know this is not all about weight loss, we believe it is important to look to change habits, motivation, body confidence.) Changes are not always done on the scales by weight loss, it is in the way your feel your motivation and skill improvement. We will reward a top member with some cool prizes for challenging themselves.
Bookings will take place from the 9th of May 2019 . Please either email your questions to Renee at firstname.lastname@example.org along with the registration waiver and the client fitness questionnaire (if brand new to our programme) or you can pop in to the Napier Aquatic Centre reception and fill in the forms and secure your spot this way. Payment is required upfront to secure your spot and spaces are not confirmed until payment is made. Once registered, an email will be sent a couple of days before the programme commences once we have our confirmed numbers. You will be asked to join our private Facebook group to keep up to date will all of the information on the programme. The page to search for is Aqua Max HIIT Squad and you will only be accepted on to it once confirmed on our programme.
All inquiries about the programme can also be emailed and will be responded to at the earliest possibility. It is First in First served and space are limited!
Booking on to the programme can be made at the Napier Aquatic Centre reception or emailing your completed forms through to the above email. Payment can only be made at the Napier Aquatic Centre. Payment options are Cash, Cheque or EFTPOS. Full Payment is required before the Programme begins. Your acceptance on to the programme is not confirmed until payment has been made. Please make sure you read the terms and conditions before you hand in your waiver. This is a commitment to our programme and once you have committed to us... we have committed to helping you on your journey. Once your payment has been made we will email you the details on the programme and a confirmation that you are on the programme.
Yes we can take private sessions for workout groups, Corporate workers and sports teams. If you are looking for something a bit different for your group, please get in touch for more information and costs.
Here are some examples of what you might expect at our sessions. Please note our sessions to vary depending on the time of year. As we are heading in to winter our sessions are all indoors. We have use of the Poolside area, Magpies Rugby Gym and OMNI Gymnastics Centre. Please refer to our timetable for the type of sessions available.
Aqua fitness is great for toning and working the cardiovascular system. We have three types of Aqua based sessions which are working in the deep water, shallow water and a bit of swimming. You don't have to be a competent swimmer to get involved on our programme and we have specialised equipment for the water sessions so you can work to the level you want.
The land based sessions will involve a mix of circuit training, running, high intensity interval training, gym style workouts and boxing sessions. Most sessions will be held on site at the Napier Aquatic Centre where we have our own private training area and use of a fitness gym. Our Boxing session is based offsite and we might plan a session out in the Napier community every now and then (more in the summer/warmer months). Our trainers will cater to the different fitness levels and will have plenty of options to choose from. During the winter months we use the poolside area for our circuits, cardio and core sessions. We provide foam mats for our clients however you may prefer to bring your own with you to the sessions.
Core conditioning is all about working on your core strength which will complement all of our other sessions. We will introduce you to Gymstick which is an amazing full body workout in itself. Gymstick is a resistance band type of apparatus that really benefits the whole body. We are the only facility in Hawkes Bay that offers this style of workout.
Fit - Nastics is a totally new concept and is exclusive to the Aqua Max Boot Camp. This awesome exercise is about having fun, trying new skills and getting fit. We will be running this session at the Gymnastics centre here at Onekawa Park. There are no expert skills required as you will only be using the equipment at a low entry level. You will be able to experience training on a fully equipped sprung floor with plenty of crash mats at your disposal. One of our Boot Camp trainers is an experienced Elite Gymnast who has plenty of knowledge to offer. Come along and be part of the only Boot Camp in Hawkes Bay that offers Fit - Nastics!
Position: Aqua Max Programme Coordinator and trainer specialising in Land sessions.
Qualification and experience: I am qualified in Aqua Gymstick and I have a Surf Lifesaving Coaching and a Gymnastics Conditioning background.
Something about me: I am the Marketing and Programmes Coordinator for Napier Aquatic Centre and I am very excited to introduce and deliver this fun fitness programme here at NAC. I have always been interested in fitness and sports and I have made 3 NZ teams in Gymnastics, Trampolining and Surf Lifesaving. I am also a keen rugby player and have played for the HB Tuis.
Position: Aqua Max Trainer specialising in Aquatic Fitness and Swimming.
Qualification and experience: I am qualified in Aqua Gymstick and have been instructing Aqua Fitness session at the Napier Aquatic Centre for 5 years. I am also a qualified lifeguard and have my First Aid.
Something about me: I am passionate about exercising in the water and enjoy taking my Aqua Fitness Classes. I swam competitively for 10 years and won national age group titles and made the NZ team for various events. I have just recently completed my teaching degree and as well as working at the Napier Aquatic Centre, I am a teacher at a Primary School for new entrants
Position: Aqua Max Trainer Specialising in Personal Training and Circuit sessions.
Qualification and experience: I am a qualified NZIHF Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor as well as a Qualified Lifeguard and First Aider.
Something about me: I Have always been involved in fitness and have played at representative level for Soccer and Cricket and have made top teams in Rugby and League. When I am not working I am in the gym training for Body Building where I compete in the Men’s Physique Division. I look forward to helping others on their fitness journey and helping with leading a more active and healthier Lifestyle.
