Are you looking for a programme that caters to all fitness levels and want to have a variety of options? Then this Fitness Programme is for you! We have a variety of session options each week that will surely keep you interested and will keep you on your toes! Our programme includes unlimited pool entry too so if you love to swim then this deal is super value for money.
Our programme is aimed at all fitness abilities as we can offer 3 different skill/fitness levels in our sessions. We don't recommend attending the high impact classes if you have a major injury that will restrict you from completing the movements. You should seek medical clearance if you have a major medical issue/restriction from performing simple movements and wish to participate in our programme.
Common movements you will see in our sessions are the following: Squat, Push up, Plank, Crunches/Sit ups, Burpee (modified versions too!), Lunges, Deadlift as well as running, moderate jumping all the while using functional fitness equipment. As our programme is based on group fitness we won't be changing the programme of the day, we will modify the movement for you. We highly recommend the aqua and water based classes for people who are recovering from injuries as the water is low impact.

HIIT Squad— These sessions have a mix of High Intensity Interval Training based around short duration circuits and cardio inspired workouts. High Intensity does mean there will be dynamic movements which will be fast and precise. It is all about moving the body well. The trainers will give options for scaled movements. The HIIT classes are better suited to those who do not have any restrictive injuries or pre existing medical concerns or conditions as these classes can not be altered to suit an individual.
HIIT Circuits— These sessions are dedicated to circuits and stations. You will see a mix of body weight and equipment in these sessions. The trainers will give options for scaling a movement if you require.
HIIT Express - These are express classes and will run for 30mins. The gym will be open 15mins prior to the session for you to arrive, mobilise and warm up before the session commences. Generally, you will see these around the lunchtime slot. Being smaller classes, the trainer can scale back movements to suit if required. Being a shorter class, you'll get warmed up pretty quickly and getting in to some of the High Intensity Interval Training.
Strength Squad- Strength building and toning programme where we will focus on weight resistance and muscle endurance training. Loads of technique is offered in this class so if you're after learning all the tips and tricks to improve your squats, presses and lifts then this class is for you.
Mobility & Core (not currently running this round) - These classes are low impact sessions, great for prep for the HIIT classes after or as an option for active recovery. The Core & Mobility classes will be 30mins long and will focus on strengthening the core muscles and working the Posterior Chain muscle groups. A good amount of time will be spent doing some active and static stretching and poses to lengthen out the muscles as well as working on flexibility. There is no doubt you will still work up a sweat here!
Yoga & Flow- is a calming class infused with moves from yoga, tai chi and pilates to build whole body strength, center your chi and relieve stress. Don't under estimate this amazing body weight class.
Swim Fit session - We'll be working on lap swimming, swim technique and general fitness. You don't have to be a strong swimmer at all, there are plenty of levels we can cater for. This session will mainly be in the pool however we do enjoy from time to time throwing in the Hydro slides during our workouts.
Aqua Fitness (public classes)— Great for toning the body and working the cardiovascular system. A good class to do for recovery when the body is sore or for trying something different. Working out in the water ins not for the faint hearted, you really can get the results from using the water as resistance. Please note: these classes follow our public Aqua Fitness classes with our Aqua instructor, not an Aqua Max trainer. You can find this schedule on the Aqua Fit page.
Our programme offers a mix of fitness sessions that incorporate fun and exciting exercises that will keep you coming back for more. We challenge ourselves in providing unique fitness sessions that are exclusive to our members you will never see a session repeated. You will have a trainer motivating you throughout the workout who has specially designed the session for our members.... we don't run generic sessions, your instructors create the workouts especially for our members where you can push yourself as much as you need and feel comfortable to.
All members can receive a pool client card that allows you to come in to the pools for swimming free of charge for the duration of your programme. There are some additional Aqua Classes that you can attend as extras if you prefer to do water only sessions, you just need to speak with us so we can arrange it.
You will need to pop in to the Napier Aquatic Centre reception,fill in the forms and secure your spot this way. Payment is required upfront to secure your spot, spaces are not confirmed until the payment is made. Payment is only able to be taken at our front counter at this point in time, sorry, no online banking option is available at this time. (we are working on it!)

Once registered, an email will be sent a couple of days before the programme commences once we have our confirmed numbers. There are limited spaces available for this intake so be sure to book your spot quickly.
You will be asked to join our private Facebook group to keep up to date will all of the information on the programme. The page to search for is Aqua Max HIIT Squad or scan the below QR code. You will only be accepted on to it once confirmed on our programme with your registration being verified.
