From Saturday 15 January we will be operating under the traffic light system (also known as the COVID-19 Protection Framework) under the orange setting, as a Vaccine Only Facility
Napier Aquatic Centre has reviewed its COVID-19 protocols and from Saturday 15 January 2022 will require the use of My Vaccine Passes. This means that everyone aged 12 years 3 months and over will need to present their My Vaccine Pass to a staff member to be verified before entering.
Capacity for the Ivan Wilson complex will be limited to 150 people, with an additional 50 people in the Old Pool.
To manage these limits while trying to ensure that no one misses out, we will be running three daily sessions. These sessions will be:
During weekdays we will be running an additional session from 6am-10am. This early morning session will be limited to structured aquatic health & fitness activities such as lane swimming, water-walking, and Aqua Fitness sessions.
At the end of these sessions at 10am and 2pm we will be asking all customers in the facility to leave to create capacity for the next session.
From 10am the Ivan Wilson lane pool will be available, the outdoor splash pad will be open, and we will have the inflatable in the Old Pool between 11am to 1.30pm.
Unfortunately, the hydro slides will not be in operation due to the pumps being reconditioned. We are working on returning this into operation as quickly as we can.
We no longer permit eating inside the facility. We will be asking all customers to consume any food in the outdoor area.
Customers will be required to wear a mask when you enter the facility, but these can be removed once you are past reception.
For more information on how the Centre will be operating under Orange of the traffic light system please see our FAQs here.
