Paratriathlon FAQs

Yes you sure can. The Napier Aquatic Centre is wheelchair accessible. We also can provide a aqua wheel chair to use down the ramp into the pool. Your wheelchair can also be used for the wheel and run leg.

Yes they can. Your team can be made up of anyone, they don’t even have to go to your school or be the same age as you.

If you need any help during the event, we encourage those around you to provide this. This event is about achieving your goals and participation.

We have loads of options for you including floatation belts, life jackets and even giant floatation mats you can lie on while your support person helps you move across the pool.

The wheels leg will be on the flat, smooth surface at the netball courts next to the pools. There will be two tracks for the run leg to pick from, one on the netball court, the second on the grass field.

We are more than happy to adapt the leg to suit your requirements. If your wheels or run leg is in a wheelchair, that is fine.

This event is open to anyone aged between 5-25 who may find the traditional triathlon difficult. If we can help by providing an environment that makes life comfortable for you, just let us know when you register.

This event is open to anyone aged between 5-25 who may find the traditional triathlon difficult.

Our aim is to make this a positive atmosphere for all. We have large grounds and plenty of spaces for people to take some quiet time.

No you don't. If you would rather arrive and leave just for your child's event, that is perfectly fine.

Yes you can with the appropriate supervision. There is no extra cost for this.

We would love that! There is no cost for spectators to enter.

The Ivan Wilson Junior and Senior Pools have been reserved for this event. The general public will still be swimming in the Lap Pool.

We do have two large changing areas (male and female), as well as two family/disabled changing rooms. These have been reserved for the event. It may be easier for some to arrive and leave in their togs.

Our plan is to run this again. We welcome spectators to come and view the event.
