We have accessible parking available at our main entrance. Our main carpark is off Maadi Road. Please ensure you clearly display your Mobility Parking Permit for the duration of your time at the Napier Aquatic Centre.
The Ivan Wilson Pool is 25m long and ranges in depth from 1.05m to 2m. This pool stays at an average temperature of 27.5 degrees celsius. There is a wheelchair accessible ramp with handrails on both sides, and we are able to provide an Aqua Chair if needed. A mobile hoist is also available if needed. Please let our friendly team know if you require the Aqua chair or mobile hoist, we are more than happy to help.
The Lap Pool in 25m long and 1.05m in depth. This pools stays at an average temperature of 30 degrees celsius. Access to this pool is via ladder which has handrails on both sides or by using a mobile hoist. Please let our friendly team know if you require the mobile hoist, we are more than happy to help. Aqua fitness classes are also run in the Lap Pool.
The spa pools stays at an average temperature of 38 degrees celsius. This pool has handrails for you to use when accessing the pool. A permanent hoist is also available for use. Please let our friendly team know if you require the hoist, we are more than happy to help.
Two accessible changing rooms are available which include a shower and toilet. These are wheelchair accessible and the entrance width to the bathrooms is 850mm.
Our outside area is all wheelchair accessible and includes covered seating, splash pad, BBQ facilities and a basketball court.
An Aqua Wheelchair can be provided upon request and depending on availability.

Special classes are available and offered privately. We are currently running weekly amputee classes, with movements adjusted to suit your needs. Use of equipment is modified and support people are encouraged to join.
If you would like to improve your swimming skills, our Learn to Swim programme can provide a range of options or you can opt for private lessons.
We are proud to be partnered with Disability Sport & Recreation Hawke’s Bay. We provide qualified swim instructors to deliver programmes for all ages and abilities.
